Here are a few behind the scene photos of a stone mason from Michael Homchick Stoneworks, fabricating kitchen countertops out of Black Moon Soapstone. It shows where fabricators normally put the seam (if you have to have one). They put it in the front and the back of the sink, and that way there are two short seams, opposed to a long one across the whole counter depth.
